After 6 days in and around Durango we move on towards Crested Butte. On our way we overtook two german mountainbikers with bikepacking gear. We stopped and chatted for a while. Before our trip started we followed their blog. The bikes and the bikpacking gear is all they brought over for their 3 months trip from Las Vegas to Denver. Somehow, I think our roadtrip with our van is very luxurious.
Nach 6 Tagen in und um Durango geht es weiter nach Crested Butte. Unterwegs haben wir zufällig die deutschen Biker Stefan Stuntz alias “Alpenzorro” und “Goldkettle” überholt. Wir hielten an und plauderten eine Weile. Bevor unsere Reise begann, folgten wir kurz ihrem Blog, weshalb uns auch ihr weißes Shirt aufgefallen ist . Schaut auf das Foto, das ist alles, was sie für ihre 3-monatige Reise von Las Vegas nach Denver mitgebracht haben. Irgendwie finde ich unsere Variante mit dem Wohnmobil ganz schön luxuriös.
Arrived in Crested Butte countless wildflowers and magical trails await us. Our free campsite on Washington Gulch Road was also pretty and it hostet the 35th annual Mountain Man Rendezvous. From time to time they shoutet “fire in the hole” and a loud gun shot resounded (even at 7 o’clock in the morning).
In Crested Butte angekommen, erwarten uns unzählige Wildblumen und zauberhafte Trails. Auf unserem kostenlosen Campingplatz an der Washington Gulch Road findet das 35. jährliche Mountain Man Rendezvous statt. Von Zeit zu Zeit ertönte ein lauter Schuss, der uns auch morgens um 7 Uhr aus den Betten holte.
