Vallée de la Roya

Wir sind in Frankreich im Vallée de la Roya, dem Nachbartal vom italienischen Valle Argentina. Schon einige Touren mit Harald zum Monte Saccarello und Monte Torragio haben uns auf die französische Seite der Region geführt. Vom Saccarello-Gipfel aus hatten wir vor fast zwei Wochen schon einmal einen tollen Blick auf
das kleine französische Örtchen La Brigue. Hier verweilen wir schon mehrere Tage auf einem schönen naturbelassenen Campingplatz auf einer Farm, der sogar über eine (eiskalte) Badestelle in einem Seitenfluß der Roya verfügt. Unsere heutige Tour führte uns wieder auf den italienisch-französischen Grenzkamm mit Blick auf das uns vertraute Valle Argentina. Oben am Balcon de Marta angekommen genießen wir das Panorama mit Mittelmeerblick.

We are in the Roya Valley in France, which is located next to the the Italian Argentina Valley. With Harald we have already been to the French side of the region when riding to the summits of Saccarello and Torragio. From the Saccarello summit (almost two weeks ago) we had a great view into the Roya Valley and the village
of La Brigue. We stay here for several days on a beautiful small campground on a farm, which even has a (very cold) natural pool. Today’s tour took us back to the
ridge line which is at the same time the Italian-French border. At the top
of the Balcon de Marta we enjoy the panoramic view including the
Mediterranean Sea.
