Nirgends ist der Erste Weltkrieg so präsent wie hier in den Dolomiten. Neben Denkmälern und Erinnerungstafeln säumen zahlreiche Stellungen den Wegesrand. Unsere heutige Tour führt uns zu Fuß (!) auf den Gipfel des Fort Tre Sassi, welches einst die Österreicher erbaut haben, um italienische Angriffe abzuwehren.
With all the monuments, commemorative plaques and battle fields next to the trails, World War I is very present here in the Dolomites. Today’s hike led us to the top of Fort Tre Sassi, which was built into a mountain by the Austrians to defend Italian attacks.
